Plenty of compression...but its coming outta the radiator!

Have an 86 non-turbo with 240000 miles. Was running great. Now lots of compression is coming out of the radiator...it blew the top hose off! Was wondering if a seal kit will cure this. Motoer was never run hot and has no external signs of leaks or breakage. How hard is it to do the seals in these things. Lots of auto/engine experience...but not with rotaries. Think I like em though.

Download the factory manual to disc at http://www.iluvmyrx7.com Go to http://www.mazdatrix.com/index.htm for a general idea of pricing. Do as you please, but I don't see anyone rebuilding the engine with that many miles without replacing the apex seals along with the seals. Unless your going to ditch the car right after.

sounds like your water seals are gone. if so your housing are probably warped too, so a rebuilt will cost alot after buying new housings. best to just buy a rebuilt engine, they are not too bad price wise. and then you don't need to wory about puting it together.
