hey i got a 1989 mazda rx7 gxl. i bought it from a guy that had took the tranny out of it to use that tranny to put in another one. well i had to buy all sorts of things and finally i got it all. and then i go to try and push start it cause i hadnt bolted up the starter yet on it. there was a few cut and loose wires by the starter area that didnt ended up hookin up with nothing. so i left those just cut and then i put my ignitino in it. cause it didnt have one. well after me and my friends pushed it with his truck the only thing it would do when i would put in the clutch was just rev up to whatever his rpm was. the ignitiion didnt kick over. i didnt hear the motor really change. and when i hit the gas it did nothin. what i need help in is. why isnt this thing startin up. its going to the last click on the ign. right before startup. what can i do to fix it??? help please . thanks

First, I would check for power to the leading coil/ignitor assembly. You should have a voltage wire going to it which comes from the main relay. You should have another wire going to it from the ECU, which triggers it. If you have battery voltage to the coil, then the other cause of this problem would be either the ECU has no power, or the CAS is unplugged/defective. Or, it could be that you are getting spark just fine, but no fuel. Try spraying some starting fluid into the engine, and then pushing it. If it runs for a few seconds and then dies, you definitely have a fuel problem. Of course, it would be a lot easier to troubleshoot if you got the starter going, imho.

you are going to have to have the wiring that goes to the starter sorted out. most of the cars electrical system passes through this area. the positive post of the starter is were most of the cars electrical system is powered from. if the main battery cable and wiring harness that is attached to the starter is not connected nothing will work. get the wiring diagram and check all the wiring at the starter then start to check all the individual components. make sure the battery has some power even if you are going to push it.
