Please Help! new engine? rebuild?

Hey, I need some help on what to do, here is the current situation.

*I own an 86 n/a, it has an oil leak somewhere, and every morning when I started it, it would smoke for a while, then stop smoking until the next morning. I let my car sit for 3 days over a vacation, and when I tried to start it, it wouldnt stop smoking. What do I do? Its been sitting for a month. I want to get this car back on the road for as cheap and soon as possible. Do mazda dealerships do rebuilds? Should I buy a J-Spec engine? I don't really have enough experience or alot of tools, so I don't think I could rebuild it myself.

Well any suggestions would be appreciated. I live in the sacremento area, so if anyone knows of any garages or mechanics that might take the rebuild job around there hook me up with the info. Thanks - chris

Im gonna help you out as much as i can but pls dont take my words. I suggest you go to a rotary mechanic and get their knowledgeable ideas. Im also going to rebuild my motor on my turboII. But i have been doing my homeworks and doing alot of research and reading books and videos to help me out with the adventure. SInce this is your first experience i suggest you get the HAYNES book first then but the BRUCE TORRENTINE's video. I personally have never done any rebuilds before but i have taken 2 turbo motors and by observing other rotorheads do a rebuild i think i can do it myself.
You ask if MAZDA do rebuilds??.heck yes they do rebuilds but its very expensive and i just heard that to get the warranty they must install the motor and that means more MONEY. The MAZDA REBUILD will run you 2K with the core. And installation will be more...ohhh and did i mention that most MAZDA dealer techs are the worst of the worst when working on rotaries???..yep ask around and let me see how many people agree.
My suggestion to you is to look around for a rotary mechanic around your area and talk to them and get the opinion and get quotes. I know it will cost you more than 2K.
If you need more help pls email me at FCTURBO2@hotmail.com
