please help

hi, I drive a 88na gxle, and I was wondering if you guys can help me answer my questions

1)my stock alarm(the one where when you close the door, it goes beep and the orange light goes on) is on sometimes and sometimes not....how do u fix it?

2)if I was plannin on puttin a cone filter to replace stock, do I need some kind of adapter, or can I just buy a cone and plug it in?

3)I heard that rx7 likes free-flowin muffler, what will happen if I use a bike x-haust?, considering I'am running a DUAL staight pipe from header out

4)also, theres something called a shift light on the manual, but I dunno if it works or what is it for, is it like the racing ones that tells you when to shift at correct rpm?

5)is there a way of by-passing the pre-amp on the stock speakers?

thanx, sorry about the long post

I can answer two of the five...

With the cone filter you can either buy an adapter plate from www.k2rd.com , even try ebay.com ... or else try and make one yourself, but you NEED one.

And yes you can bypass the amps, simply by disconecting them, ripping them out and throwing them in the garbage. Just connect your aftermarket deck to the speakers directly. Use the old wire if you want. The amps are pretty much useless, and a new deck will give off more power anyway. (im assuming your putting in a new deck)

Good luck.

Bigmike,

You might have a machine shop make you one for cheap. An perf. catalytic converter will help as well, especially if your OEM catalytic converter is clogged up which is normal for high mileage.

Stage I for na's is usually:

perf intake, perf exhaust, cold air box, fresh air headlight scoop, ignition system (stronger spark),

Stage II can be a ported engine.

Some people also "wire open the ports" although I'm not 100% sure what that means.

Shift light is for optimal MPG I think.

Try cleaning the door close sensor contacts and see if that helps.

Use the key to lock the door or lock the door from the inside with the door open, then close the door.
