Plan on rebuilding my engine

Hello all I plan on rebuilding my engine I have just finished disassembly and now am moving on the cleaning my parts. I planned on having my irons and rotor housings put in a hot bath at a local machine shop to have them cleaned. Is this ok for the irons and housings to be cleaned this way? Or would I be better off just using a parts washer and lots of time?

I took mine to a machine shop and told the machinist what everything was made of, that way he knew what treatments would be safe for which parts. He might have put all my housings/irons and whatever in the same bath, but I let him know because he knows the chemicals they use, I don't. The housings are Aluminum with pressed chrome inserts and the irons and rotors are cast, but the rotors have babbit bearings (which I think are a coated copper piece).
