Take a socket, slightly smaller then the hole... (i just did this) and bigger then the seal...Then bang in the end of the socket with a hammer ( lightly) dont worry, you wont harm the seal.

No, you don't want to do this. The grease on the pilot bearing (you did grease it right), can get onto the clutch disc, and that's it for the clutch disc.

Get a new seal

Then just junk the damn car and stop wasting our time asking questions you don't want the answer to.

The only thing I'd add to what DC said is to put the seal on, use a large flat socket (bigger than the hole) to get the seal to seat in the shaft. Then switch to the smaller socket and drive it in.

Bye.

Ok Dude, I'm stuck driving a gawd damn Kia Sephia for the last 9 months because I don't have the cash to fix my Trans Am, after an incident at Sears Point. I'm spending every dime I have on the FC to get it ready for this track event on the 26th. Trust me, I know how you feel. But I also know that you'll be even MORE pissed when you get grease all over the clutch disc and have to do all this work over again, plus spend the cash for a new clutch (since the grease will ruin the disc)

Good luck.
