Cool, I wish I didn't know how to drive within the limits of traction and performance...
I've spent more time sideways than a sidewinder... only bumped a curb once.

Thats ok, then our value of our car increases per day

Sorry about the car though , I was in an accident 3 weeks ago. Me and my buddy were driving back from Toronto in his 10th AE. Really hard rain and wind, lost control on a turn, hit the inner barrier twice and then flipped over. Car is a write-off , were fine though.

Well, I sadly can't say it's not my fault. We were headed back from a church group (god hates me) and two of the cars ahead of me ran a stop sign that was partly blocked by trees if you were more than half the block away, so these two other cars went right through it, so I wasn't thinking to slow down at all, or that there might be a stop sign there, by the time I saw the stop sign, I couldn't get the car to stop in time. I really don't think i reacted too late to avoid it, I think the brakes on the car weren't functioning properly, we had about maybe 1/4th a block to go from about 25 to 0, and we hit them doing about 15-20, the car didn't seem to slow down at all, the tires didn't even lock up, and I had that pedal as far pressed to the floor as I could. Oh well, tomorrow I shall see if it is fixable. I really don't want to take a rex off the road.

Wow, that sucks. Glad to hear you're ok though. Thats all that matters. I hate to be saying bad things, but I personally think that they're gonna total the car. Look under the passenger door, the rocker panel is bent out, usually indicating frame twisting toward the center of the car. And also there is obvious frame damage up front, plus the two fenders, bumper, etc.. Usually 15 year old car + frame damage= totalled.

Just to settle some confusion. The damage to the passanger side door (and most of the fender for that matter) was caused in an accident before I bought the car. I bought it with the door smashed in, and attempted to pull it out the best I could, however it didn't look pretty. It runs fine, and the frame wasn't bent when it was hit in the passanger door, the rocker panels sheet metal is just bent. The car drives straight, doesn't pull or anything. I may just try to straigten out the front end as best I can and slap some body panels on it just so it is drivable and use it as a rally car or something, I don't think I could ever put a rex in the grave yard I fixed it once, I shall do it again! Btw rico, the GXL is doing good, finished my rebuild, going to try to fire it up tomorrow, battery was dead tonight. Wish me luck!

I know what you mean, I have to see my poor rex suffer every time I walk out of my door, all because I wasn't paying enough attention to have seen the stop sign. I am no longer worthy!

Rip all the bent stuff off. Take it to a body shop and have them put it on a frame straightener. Shouldn't cost too much to fix it back right.
