aight guys we got it taken care of...went to a shop and got some PVA mold release for the first mold and then wax everytime after that...as well as some other type of glass that veils in and secures the aluminum on the inside...and first copy that comes out will have to be perfected then another mold off of that......so we will post some pics when done.....so we are hoping to get one done by tomorow

efforts to help the rotary community. I will post more after I go back this weekend to check it out agian. Lates Matt22

just a quick update.....all the aluminum is in the hood.....she is out of the mold and we are just waiting for a few more strips that need to have angle breaks for the hinges, a wee bit of surface work and then its all done....so ill have some pics up soon as soon as its a finished product and on the hood latched onto the car itself......anyhow the first one is already sold and i know who is interested but if anyone wants one just pm me or whatever, and im sure people will realise that im not BSing anymore once i have one done..and bigretard i know i promised you the first dibs but people are vultures on this thing when they see it and he offered the money up front.....but next one up bro lool.....and one more question......would u guys rather have a front end for the next project or a headlight kit???...u guys already saw the bumper....and for the fiberglass guy....robxx7....for the mold we used the pva and it was perfect....no spray on **** it was just fine with the roller.....second of all now that the hood is perfect we are oign to make a layer mold of it and put it back into the mother mold this way the mold skin is also perfect....we are aslo going to build a wooden backbone for the mold out of bookshelf wood and use some red tooling gel when we get the chance.....but at least this way we can prevent warping...next copies will be layer of 2oz-heavy weave cloth...cant remember- then a layer of 2oz again....

YES!! can't wait for pics of it finally finished!!!

it okay I didn't get the first one. I still ned like another week to be able to pay for shipping anyway.

and even when I get it, I'm not going to be able to put it on untill I get my new rad and FMIC, so I'm not in a big hurry. just as long as I get one.

do you have any idea how much it weighs?

oh, and I would recommend starting a new thread for the finished pics!

well big retard sounds good........and we are looking for a cheap way to ship.....thats a problem...as far as weight goes it weighs less than the aluminum hood and this one that we have made is heavier than the ones we will make.....we hit the learning curve on this one so the next one wont take weeks more like a day or so......so yes its light....and about the mount it sounds good.....thats what jody or astrochild sven is working on....im doing most of the body designs whereas he has some SICK ideas as far as under the hood goes....like the horizontal mount as well as a Vmount and some other porting that we are keeping under wraps......we have access to two different shops in town that build top fuel and funny car drag motors and access to all of the machinery........hell if we had the money we could build an e-shaft for a four rotor and put it on roller bearings and build telescoping intake runner.......the potnetila is there...the money isnt lool....but just the idea that we could head in everywhich way......and as far as the kit goes i want to do the byumper first then the light kit..i like the fc2000 but im not going to be making replicas...any company can do that but its no fun...i want to offer something new and iffrent..something of my own creation....i want to offer people different...basically anoyther option.....so i want to make the headlight kit seperate of the bumper...basically bolt in.....so im thinking eastbear with a curved lexan cover.....NSX style basically.....this way peep who liki the lights but dont want the bumper can do as they please.......and as far as the rear goes i really liek the stock s5 with the corksport caps and something similar to erebun style but with a more subtle diffuser....a lil further back....so maybe to save custmers money and myself te time and trouble i could just offer a nice bolt on diffuser and my own caps and you wont have to worry about fitment cuz nothing is better than stock and this way people can pick and choose and ur free to vary...some hate diffusers...but like the caps....better this way....fits better and less work on the end for all parties.....thats the bad thing about the FC is there isnt anything to choose from......unless you have some serious money....and most people that have an rx7 and have serious money usually typically dont have a second gen....so if you have that money to spend on ur car u have the money to spend on a third gen....its just simple economics......a guy with a thid gen can spend 900 on a hood....our first few are going for 450 then its up to five.......plus shipping and all of that....but we are well below anything else that doesnt look stock......so we are doing something good here....im not sure what yet.......anyhow....yes when we get pics we will post them on a new thread.....just needed an update.......

Hey guys, I just stumbled across this website a couple days ago. I live in Roseburg, OR., and would love to come look at the hoods. plus it would be awesome to meet some people that know about 7's. I just got my engine rebuilt ( TWICE!) jackass down here has no clue what the hell he is doing! anyways it is running good, but I know it could be running better. Plus I have some body kit designs I would love to see done. please e-mail once you see this post, I would love to be able to talk about what can be done with my car. It is almost bare bones stock, and I am open to doing almost anything with it..... except dropping in a V8.
