Looks nice, but you are losing air flow thru the radiator by not using a shroud.

I think yourset up is mint. Banzai is correct about the shroud, but i have never used one. On my 86Base i run the stock radiator with a GM fan (same as the "feiro fan") and have never ran into problems. The stock guage stays at or below 1/4 of the way up.

Nice job, I use a first gen turbo eclpse radiator with two mitsu electric fans in my first gen. A friend if mine who helped with the install said it would never fit but I squeezed it in there, looks like a similar situation.

By redusing rotating mass and load on the crankshaft, it allows your engine to rev faster and frees up a couple ponies. It only works that way, though, if the fan is hooked up to run thermostatically, i.e. only when needed. If you have the fan hooked up to run all the time, you can actually LOSE performance due to the added load on the alternator (which in turn loads the crank/e-shaft).

An added advantage is that the fan doesn't create a blockage to airflow across the engine bay. Again, this only works if the fan shuts off when not needed (typically cruising along on the highway).

It is usually better to have a shroud for the fan. I installed an e-fan from an 88 Fiero on mine, including the shroud. Instructions can be found by searching the archives. For TII's it is probably more critical to have a shroud, due to the increased thermal load.

Well, he doesn't seem to know a lot about rotaries, so I gave him a name that he would probably understand.

It is big. And it took a bit of work to get it in there. But it works great. The fan is thermostatically controlled so it runs only when needed. I live in SoCal and go to work at 6:30 AM so the air temps are fairly cool right now. My commute is approx 30 min. Most of it freeway but the last couple of miles are city streets. The fan only runs at the very end of the commute. Even on hot days with the ac on the engine temps stay right in the middle of the gauge.

Thanks vaughnc for posting the pics. I don't have a web site to link them.
