Pics of convertibles...
No, I don't have any pics, I want to see some. The search function didn't help me out too much, and I want to see what some of the cooler modded ones look like, so please post if you have one!
Stockers need not apply, I want to see everything from big wheels to big body kits with wings! I want to mod mine, but can't decide what to do w/it, so I'm looking to you to help me out with ideas, and the only pics I've seen of 'verts is stock, or with new wheels, that's it.
SOMEONE has to have a convertible they have toiled over to separate it from the rest of ours, so please, post away!
I can't promise not to copy the ones I like best, tho...

the site is down now i think
but if you go to www.archive.org and in the middle of the page there is this thing called the wayback machine... type in "http://www.rx-7.cc" in to it, and click on one of the pages it gives you somewhere in the middle of the date range.... on that site there are lots of convertible pictures as well as other information

Here is mine so far....... The bumper is a modified Corksport Border II replica and the lights are from an Audi A4 with HID's.... I had to eliminate HID and just make the high beams H7's though due to cost of bulbs/ballasts. I also made a set of lights that are RE Amemiya clones to go into the same bumper, I am not sure which I like better though. Please don't judge the quality they are still not quite finished. P.S. the top of the assy. is made from the lid from the original light assy. that I cut and bent to have a vent and a recess for the plexiglas.

Damn. JonEQuest, that was exactly what I wanted to do with my vert... corksport front with custom RE-look lights. That looks amazing. If you were willing to make another, I'd buy that headlight kit. Or if you can post or pm me the detaills on how you made it. Looks awesome, definitely keep us updated on your car.
I simply cut the top of the old lids into what you see and joined them onto some housings that I made out of cardboard and then covered in fiberglass. After that I bolted in some light assemblies that I got from a wrecked A4 at my buddies bodyshop.

JonEQuest,
Nice mods, however I'm not too excited about the choice of headlights. IMO they're too big and bulky looking, which takes away the "sleekness" look of the rx7.
I would recommend either a projector or elipsoid type headlight system, it'll flow much better with the lines of the car.
Either way, I'm curious to see the finished product. It should be nice

Plus they do look a lot better in person than in these pics.

I have the electric fan,i just put the stock fan back on without the shroud to help while the car is at idle,i have a new engine.I will take the finger chopper off when break-in is complete.
Mine appears close to stock, but the subtle touches that arent sticking out at you tell an experienced 7 person it is not.
The wing, obviously, is not stock...its from a 3k GT. IMO it looks made for the car, and others are running this one as well.
The car has the s5 t2 front lip and side skirts, both of which add to the existing body lines without making the car drag or rub on entrances/exits to parking lots.
The body man removed the rear emblems and shaved the 3rd brake light (as the wing has a LED light on it I chose to use instead).
I also relocated my antenna 3" forward to clear the wing, and he welded the extra hole up. The car has a fresh coat of blaze red.
Since these pics, I have changed exhaust and my personalized tag, as well as some interior parts (including mark's seats
) so I need to snap a few more to put up here.

Very clean looking car, You are right about the wing, it does go with the car well. I got my wing from someone here on the forum and am going to add a led light to it and eliminate the trunk light also. I heard you got new seats. The one suggestion I could make to anyone especially with a vert. with old torn seats (like mine), is the Okole brand neoprene seat covers. They are great. I got them wet before and they dry out in like 10 minutes. The main thing is that they don't look like seat covers, they look like seats. The neoprene is great because it has the firm feel of leather but still has the cloth layer that keeps them from burning your legs in the summer. Also they actually make the ones custom fit for our cars with the hammerhead headrests.
