Picked an 87 GXL up and have a few ?'s
Just picked this thing up and am doing a few repairs. (want it roadworthy before I start thinking about other stuff) Onward to my few ?'s.
1: My major problem has to do with power steering. When driving it is fine untill randomly a buzzer comes on (which when I looked it up, I beleive in the forums I can't remember where now, it said that the coolant needs to be bled) in which that second the power steering is gone. I am thinking a clog or the pump is just dieing. Any Idea's?
2: The warning lights and the clock tend to not always work and I was wondering if someone could direct me to the correct way of pulling that so I can try to repair it.
3: Last question I swear (well for this post at leaste) is how hard is it to replace the speedometer cable. Thing isn't working and it just snowed..... cables cheap but I don't want to get myself into something this week when ima feeze something I don't want too off.

Do some searching on "cold solder joints". This could fix many of your symtoms.
The low coolant buzzer is just that. The only reason it come on as you turn is the coolant flowing to one side away from the sensor.
I have a copy of the manuals in PDF format at the link in my sig.

The connection at the transmission is just like any other car.
Installing the cable end back into the rear of the gauge cluster is a royal pain.
An extra 4" of cable length (there's a "she said" joke lurking here...) would make life a lot simpler.

ROTARD FOR LIFE!!!
tip outside of what youve asked... Make sure your Metering Oil Pump(MOP) is working correctly, and if its not or if your not sure, buy TCW-3 2cycle and mix one 16oz per tankfull...

What would the TCW-3 2cycle do for me? As of right now I got the powersteering to last longer (I bled it then tightened up hte belts), but after about an hour the power steering went again.
