Damn. Both my RX's have steel hoods. Even my 88 GTU.
My paint is really really bad on the hood and part of one fender(like someone dripped acid on them, then fixed with chip stick). Mayeb they switched my hood?

Your car is just begging for some s5 aero mirrors or some JDM FC mirrors ( the kind that fold back ).

Nice car! I even like the trim deletion.

wow i never noticed the wing before! if it floats your boat - then cool.. but its not to my taste

other than that i like what youve done!

REGARDLESS of what other people say, i think it looks like a quick little machine EVEN THOUGH its not forcefed.. face it! rx7s are fast! i can keep up with a TII! just takes me longer to get to top speed!

n/as are still fast..

OK now to turn the tables for a second.. where will i find myself one of these elusive aluminum n/a hoods? (considering there arent any GTU or GTUs in canada..)

(like i mean.. are those the ONLY models is came with? or..)

Does nothing? You really need to keep your mouth shut sometimes. It does work to cool the engine, don't believe me, try it once.

Has it been proven to cool an N/a engine? If it has then I am at fault. But like the other people on the forum I want to see proof that it works! I did say that it is lighter but I don't see any way for that scoop to catch air to cool the engine at all. I have looked at that air pressure chart thingie and the hood scoop ain't in the right spot.

EDIT: my tem guage stays at about 1/5 of the guage with my flat hood. No properly cooled N/a needs more. DO you mean that the needle has to be at the bottom of the guage to be cool? I drive in 100+ temps I think I can talk about high temps and cooling problems. I have had two cooling problems both are fixed now and my car is just fine. If I wanted cooling I would opt for something like that reverse cowl design thats around here. Now that would cool better.

Anyways I did say IMO hello. I didn't say oh **** take it off its a peice of crap. I said to me it is not justified. If he got a deal on it for 250 if I was him I would have sold it for more and bought something else for my car. But I am not him. That is why it is my oppinion get it? Have you heard of that?

haven't you ever thought that maybe it DOESN'T catch air? Maybe it works as a VENT? I've personally seen it work, and it DOES work. How? It vent's it, you can see the hot air coming out of it as you're driving.

a reverse hood would be more effective, by drawing the hot air out.

i try to keep the arguing to a minimum, but when i saw "does nothing" (as posted by 87guy) i was suspicious..

but having no proof to support myself when i say "it would do plenty on an n/a!!", then i decided to not post at all..

ive seen the tII aluminum on a few n/a in person.. IMO it looks decent, and provides some functionality and air circulation..

but like i say i have no real proof to back myself up if i got into an arguement, so..

btw - a reverse scoop would be more effective at getting the hot air out, but at the same time, id rather have the cool air being drawn into the scoop facing the stock direction... just seems like it would have cooler engine bay temps..

- My biz patna has a TII hood on his GXL. Let me tell you he DOES have cooling problems. I DON'T

That is my proof. It looks ok But I don't like it. If is acting falsly and portraying something you are NOT.

Yeah, I know what you mean. On an N/A it vents through that, probably because there's more air pushing from under the hood from the engine bay than there is coming in the vent, so it lets it pass through instead of bottling it up and holding it in place.

BTW. why is every one so hacked up about the TII hood on an n/a. Mustang has a fake hood scoop and no one bitches. Just because some one is N/A doesn't mean that they are not worth oh have a TII hood. Thats my opinion...its no different then putting S5 lights on a S4 car.

well I like having stock stuff specifically MODLE/YEAR stuff. I like to look the way it came from the factory. I don't feel the need to be something else. I am happy with havind an S4 and how it looks. That is why I don't really have the URGE to get S5 tails or a TII hood. To me PERSONALY it is pointless. The only things I do is to make it perform better but keep it as close to stock looking as I can. Kinda like the speak softly but cary a big stick thing. Anyways it doesn't really matter to the guy that owns the car so why argue.

Oh the Mustang thing.....

I HATE ALL mustangs. I can only respect the GT and higher trim models like the Cobran and Cobra R. Even then i hate them but I acknowledge their power.

as for the first car... I don't like it.
1:its N/A
2: it looks fast, but isn't (unless you've added a turbo or suprcharger )
3: its got a big ol' alluminum wing
4: its N/A with a TII hood
5: I don't like how the bronze rims match the bronze paint
6: there's quite a bit of fender gap IMHO

of course, this is all just my opinion. if you like it, then good for you.
thia guy is a real dick, this car is a fine piece of art as well as a fine car

Perhaps what I should have said is that: I personaly would never do it to my car and don't like the way it looks. BUT is is very nicely composed and looks clean. If that is your taste then so be it. But I also wanted my oppinion heard. Thankyou for readin.

well IMHAO i like the color...that car looks good and i have been waitin gto see what that kit looks like on another car than the pics that i have and it looks nice....but ill defenitely be making my own soon....i like the c-west kit they never made so im making it myself.....but definitely get some wheels when you get the cash and i give you props on doing that with a car you got for 250.....thats the best looking car for the price if i have ever seen one....but at first i thought u bought a bunch of spares and had them painted so maybe something to thicken it up and ull get a more muscular look.....about the t2 hood on an na....well i have been doing a lil bit of sanding work on my prototype reverse cowl and i have needed something to back it up so it wouldnt flex so i put my hood under it and my partners t2 hood on mine.....and it looks funny....because i have the fone dial wheels on it.....so unless you have the bulk to match it then i wouldnt put it on mine but situations come where you must....and i have an aluminum hood on my stock 86 base.....and a jspec coolant tank......which i think is odd....i have never seen anyone with a coolant tank in the same spot as mine.....

some of the 86's have it on the driver shock tower if that's what you're talking about. it's not JDM.
