About $1000.

You got a hell of a deal. Did you have to replace anything major on that car? Over here in the States, a S5 TII like that would go for $4000-6500, which I suppose is about 2500-5000 pounds.

Lucky limey.

the car is fine - its done 105K miles and had a rebuild by mazda at 65K - 70K and its FSH

only think to replace was the HT leads which were £60 - say about $100

I actually got my car for $200 US, about 3 years ago. I havn't had to do any major work to it, except the power steering rack, and a good chunk of body work. The people thought the motor was blown, when it was only flooded out and somebody switched the spark plug cables around. Straightened them out, and rolled the car off about 5 times, and I've been driving it ever since. I'll try and post some pics of it soon enough, you would never guess I got it for $200. I've already been offered much more than that for it several times now.

Umm nooooo.
There is no such thing as a GTU bumper.

I have a 88 GTU. It has 5 lugs instead of this one which has the phone dials.

The GTU has 4 piston front brakes and this one (most likely an SE) has single pistons.

Also The GTU has power sunroof/power mirrors and manual windows and TII suspension.

That's an aftermarket bumper. I can't remember who makes them. Maybe Border/or replica

At the bottom there is a pics of my Red SE and Black GTU next to each other.
