Unhappy "phantom blinker" killing my battery?

First really cold morning of the year (actually below freezing)- went to start my 87 and got... NOTHING!
Not even a click. Battery was flatlined.
After a boost from my lovely, talented, and indulgent wife; the car fires up but there is a sound identical to a turn signal/hazard flasher. The blinkers are not blinking- just the sound... The turn signals and hazards all work when turned on and quit when turned off, but the noise continues.

The noise even continues when the ignition is off. Anybody ever encounter this before?

Try diconnecting alarm harness from cpu and see if it stops.

sounds like some relay or solenoid in the car is clicking on and off...pull fuses one by one till it goes away...once you find which fuse it's under go search the relays one by one and solenoids and replace as needed

Thanks for the input, guys.
After I charged the battery and tightened the alternator belt, the problem stopped.

Now, if I can just figure out WHY the week charge made that happen...

Probably the warning relay in the CPU, seeing under 12 Volts
