I thought the question was answered?

The ultimate way to check your TPS is to get to the ECU input pin from the sensor (don't have the S5 wiring manual, or I'd give you the pin location), put a meter on it from pin to ground, set the meter to voltage, turn the key on, and slowly push the peddle down while watching the meter needle do its sweep up the voltage range. Check that the idle (peddle up, make sure the fast idle cam's not messing with it) value is per the FSM, and any "hiccups" you see during the needle sweep will prove it's the TPS itself and not the wiring...

will problems with the tps cause the car to accelerate slowly. its not a rough drive its just slow. extremly slow. i think the tps is the idleing problems but im unsure about the performance problem

Don't know about the S5's, but the S4 TPS is pegged at about 1/3 throttle, anything over that & the input voltage is a steady 3.5 or so...

Yours could be something else entirely- clogged fuel filter(s), clogged cat, etc...

However, if you're getting the code, start with the TPS...

Well, get your FSM, get to your ECU, start the car, and read out all the sensor inputs & compare them to the FSM specs...That's the quickest way to find an engine/ sensor electrical problem...

The CEL doesn't have to be always on for the TPS to cause problems. In fact, the light only comes on when the ECU cannot detect the TPS at all. The TPS can still be sending faulty signals to the ECU, causing poor performance.
