PCV and pcv? +Catchcan??

So... Are the "Purge Control Valve" and the "Pressurized Crankcase Ventilation" The same thing?
And this is the thing that I put the JEG's breather/Catchcan on right? Ifso that's good because my Stock one broke during VACRAC removal... I should get the 3/8ths inch right? Not the 1/4?

Thanx!

I believe so. Ive never heard it called pressurized crankcase ventilation, but they sound like they still deal with the same concept.

Where did you put the breather on? The PCV is a multi-hose system, running from your charcoal cannister to your Intake Duct. If you remove it, you are supposed to put a breather/catchcan on the metal nipple right below the oil filler cap.

Well, I am still in the middle of the job... Oh a little correction, "POSITIVE crankcase..." I got the info from this thread that is really quite awesome...
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=112251
I am just learning about all this stuff now, so I am going to order the Catchcan today.
Apparently there is a little debate about this but,
the advantage is to simplify the whole engine compartment, just by removing a lot/all of the emissions crap. I have also removed the charcoal canister so where then should one of the lines go? This thread says that you run one to the fill neck and one to the block. I have heard that the charcoal cannister component is not necessary... I do not have it on my N/A but a guru buddy of mine did that job for me a couple years ago when I didn't know wtf I was looking at...
I am assuming that I need the 3/8ths inch right? Because this is the size of most of the vac lines???

PCV does more than just a catchcan. A catcan will catch any blowby from the oil syste.

PCV will return any oil/gas/nox fumes to the intake manifold to be reburnt for cleaner emissions.

Remove the PCV and you're running illegaly (dumping nox into the atmousphere, meh.) The only advantages are a cleaner intake manifold intake tract, and a simplified intake system.

Downsides: Stinky exhaust, required catchcan, NOx burning a hole in the ozone causing skin cancer and global warming. It will give your grandkids something to goto college to solve.

Also, if you remove the PCV system and
cap the oil system: the oil system becomes pressureized and starts to seep through the combustion chambers causing smoking. Also the bad acidic fumes in the oil system will start to pit things like eshaft and what not. A PCV vents these fumes to the intake manifold to be burnt or to the charcoal canister.
Leave uncapped/no catchcan: cover your engine bay in blowby.
