Passing emissions with RB exhaust

I have the full RB exhaust, no cats, removed air pump, fuel cut defender. I was wondering if anyone has been able to pass emissions test with this exhaust system with a cat that can bolt in where the first muffler is located, or be fabbed up to fit in. I have to get my car to pass emissions again soon any help info on good cats to get would help.

You'll never pass emissions in a rotary with no cat, period.

I tested my car for ***** and giggles when I first got it with an RB header and presilencer but other emissions equipment still attached, and it blew 2000+ HC's at cruise, 1500 at idle.

Do the stock cats setup bolt up to the RB exhaust Y pipe?

Are there any cats that will bolt in to replace the RB presilencer?

The stock cats/exhaust manifold/downpipe will bolt up to the RB catback, yes.

With the RB catback and downpipe, though, the gap between the downpipe and catback is larger than the stock main cat. So you either need a connecting pipe made for the stock main cat or a custom job put in.

If it's the turbo back system which I believe is what you have, there is no part of that system that will bolt up to the stock system. The stock system is about 6" short of the RB "Y" and about 3" to the left. You're best bet is to drop the presilencer and have a shop take an aftermarket converter and fit it into that area with new flanges. Don think that will allow you to pass a sniffer without the air tube.

That's true, my mistake. I forgot about the fulle 3" "Turbo back" system they have which is only compatible with itself.

I was thinking of the 2.5" downpipe/presilencer combo with the normal RB catback, forgot about the turbo back one.

I still wonder if the catback is different, though. It seems like they'd still use the same catback that they sell seperately but change the downpipe/presilencer combo on the 3" one. It'd be a lot cheaper for them, too, to use the same catback.

I'm not familiar with the air tube? Is this from the air pump?

When taking off the stock exhaust system I put on EGR block of plates and removed the air pump too.

Both of which I put in the dumpster since it was a big pain in the *** to pass emisssions with the stock exhaust system any way.

You'll need those if you want to pass emissions, you'll never be able to pass without them.

If you replace the presilencer with a 3 inch cat yes you can and will pass if your other emissions gear is intact.
