when i bought my rx7 the window did not work, every now and then my window would move when i pressed the button, it goes down but doesnt want to go up unless there is someone pushing it up and someone is pressing the button. i bought awindow regulator from someone and it didnt work at all, not sure if i bought a broken window regulator or what, what else can cause a window to not want to move up or down?

 

Corroded window switch contacts? Dirt between the glass and window slider?
Does the window open when you put 12v directly to the motor?

I have the same problem with my 88 vert. I suspect it's just gummed up and removing the crud and lubing the tracks will fix it.

Easier said than done, though. Any advice for removing the door panels and fixing it up?

 

Check/clean the contacts in the window switch. When removing the door panels, be careful with the plastic tabs that secure the panel to the door. If it's tough to pull out, the cardboard door panel will give way and rip.
