Passenger side door won't open?

So, as it says, the passenger side door won't open. The connecting rod (?) that unlatches the door fell out I guess. I can't open it from the outside or inside. Any ideas? I'm having the dealership take a look at it Tuesday, but if I can get if fixed myself, that would be great!

Maybe your car doesn't like you to pick up fat chicks?

My T2 did the same thing and ended up having to replace that actual latch assembly inside the door. Only way I could open it was to reach my hand inside and manually puch up (i think up) on a little latch to get it open.

Dont go to the dealership unless you trust the mechanics at the one in your area. Last time my headlights stopped working they quoted me 450 diagnose and correct the prob. Got home and found it was just a cut wire at the headlight and dimmer relays.

Ya, but it hampers the hot ones too. Oh well, I guess they'll just have to crawl over my stick!

...you mean inside the door panel? With a coat hanger or something?

I don't know about the one near me yet...I'm just getting an estimate really, and to see if he can even do it. They seem decent...but I'll find out. Besides, as far as anything rotary related, they're the closest thing to me that I am aware of.

Yeah, inside the door itself. I just reached in with my hand and used my finger to manually undo the door latch to open it.
