Passenger door won't open

My passenger door won't open from the inside or the outside. I thought the loce wasn't disengaging but I took the lock trim off and yanked on the rod and it still won't open.

Is there any way I can take the door panel off with the door closed to inspect the latch? How the hell do I get this door open!

slim jim. coat hanger. I haven't been inside the doors yet, but I'd bet there's a way to jimmy it open. Once you do make sure you tear it open and fix it before closing it again.

Mine had this same problem. It's acting like it won't unlock?
There is actually a small cam that rolls over for the locking mechanism. I don't have a picture of it at the moment...
But basically, if the cam splits, gets stuck, or pretty much is unable to do its job, the car will stay locked, or perhaps it'll stay open all the time and not close...
It's kind of a pain but my solution was to just replace to locking mechanism entirely...

How do I replace the locking mechanism with the door shut?
