The big difference you're going to notice from the REW is the motor mount location. I've heard several stories about this and basically makes the REW swap pointless if you can do the RE swap. No current "drop-in" custom mounts exist as far as I know for the REW, but they do for the RE. (Which is one thing you'll have to have).

Power is better on the REW, but again not worth the initial pain ($$) of doing that swap. Spend the money on upgrades for the RE. Sounds like ports are larger on the RE though, so may offset that benefit anyway. Exhaust ports apparently need a little help on the RE (too small/restricted), but doesn't sound like a major issue.

If you're planning on sticking w/ the stock twin turbo setup at first, I don't think you'll need much more to do the swap as far as extras. Eventually need a T2 tranny and LSD probably to handle the added power, but could probably avoid that initially if you wanted. You also shouldn't need an aftermarket computer, fuel pump, etc. until you upgrade to a single turbo and get a lot higher boost.

Sorry I can't give you more detail, but I have not done this swap yet. This is the next immediate plan and already have the RE engine sitting in my garage. Just in research mode now. By the way, if you haven't gotten the engine yet, I'm actually going to end up w/ 2 of them. I'm going to sell one to fund part of the project, so if you're interested, let me know.

I've seen indications that the stock ECU would work. I'm swapping into a vert so the rumors fly about the ECU working fine and actually being able to control the turbos... Heck I don't know really, to play it safe I'd say get ahold of a T2 ECU. Pretty cheap I think... If you got the cash and plan on buying one anyway, you could go ahead and get the upgraded ECU... Like I said, I don't really have experience doing this -- this is going to be an experiment for me too... Good luck and keep me posted -- would like to know what to watch out for!

im swaping the engine into a TII, i plan on getting my trany rebuilt to help, im getting the RE motor mounts from fc3s.org and plan on getting the engine jumbo street ported. but if you have a RE then i would realy like to hear your price, all i have right now is about 700$ but could probably get the rest fairly quick. i was wondering whats a good clutch and flywheel? also i plan on about 300-350 with the stock turbos so what kind of fuel pump am i going to need?
