Part question - urgent!!

Ok folks, question time from me.

'90 streetported vert.

Idling problem, so, checked hose lines.

Found the second hose was cracked (first one leading up fine), and in need of replacement. However, the hose snakes underneath and appears to lead to the air hose.

So, my questions are:

what part is this (the circled part) and what does it do?

Is the hose safe to remove without taking top part of engine apart (looks snake-able)?

And does that hose go to the underside of the air hose?

---------

I was able to remove the oil filler tube, to get a better shot.

Any help appreciated.

Well, not going to be able to get hose replaced before I go to Portland, so I used some tape to wrap around for the time being.

Anyway, I think I've figured out what the part is: the advanced warm up system.

Let me know if I'm wrong please.

Thanks ice, on the first part.

Still need to know what the status on that hose is.

Is it snake-able? And am I going to have to go to the dealer?
