Parking Brake won't stay up (doesn't click)
Hey everyone,
My parking brake stopped working awhile back. I believe the mechanism inside the vehicle is broken / worn. I can get it to stay if I lift it up with my hand, reach underneath the parking brake and push up on the "clicker".
Is there anyway to adjust the height of the "clicker"? (or maybe to learn a more technical name for this thing?) The cable is fine, I've used the adjustment nut, that isn't the problem. The brake holds the car fine, it just won't stay up on it's own. (Unless I push up on the mechanism from underneath, that is.)
When I pull up on the brake it doesn't "click" at all.
Cheers,

Old grease makes things stick. The one in my TII did that. I just had to scrape as much of the old grease out as I could then work the clicker for a while. Now it works ok. Keep the cover off of the lever and keep something handy to poke the clicker to make it lock in correctly, just in case.
