Parking Brake Problems
Parking Brake Problems
Hoi hoi,
Awhile back my parking brake started to provide a lack of holding power, I kind of ignored it and was forced to park on generally level ground
hahaha. So I pulled out my Haynes manual and decided I would tighten the brake line via the screw which is apparently accessible when you remove the parking brake cover.
So I did that, or so I thought and it was not really what I saw in the Haynes Manual. There was a threaded metal piece which was screwed onto a main steel shaft (check the pictures). I tried turning the threaded metal piece to make it tighter, but it had no effect on the holding capacity of the parking brake. Am I even close to doing this right?
So from the pics below perhaps someone could tell me what I've done wrong?
I know, prolly a very simple/stupid question but any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris
