Parking Brake (no clicks)

My handbrake does not click when I pull it up, however, the brake engages and locks the rear wheels when pulled up. The button acts as if it is stuck depressed and will not hold itself in place when pulled up. What may be the problem and how can I diagnose this issue?

seems like the little arm that latches on to the teeth fell off. easiest and probably the only way to fix it is to take out the e brake assembly from the car and try to feed that arm back out with a small flathead or something.

that or get another assembly from a junk car.

Wiggled the little rod a bit and managed to get it to work, not sure how long it'll last because it seems a little sketch and poorly reassembled, but we'll see. Thanks!
