Paint coming off of stock s5 wheels

No one replied in the wheels section so I thought I'd try and repost here.
The paint is coming off of my wheels.

What should I do? I was thinking that I could paint the damaged area with some touch up paint. Not sure though. Could anyone tell me a good wheel cleaner to prevent this from happening to another wheel? I had also thought of painting them white, it would look good with the midnight blue i think, but I'm a little skeptical of the wheel paint. I would rather touch it up than redo them.

That's a bit weird, I have a tiny bit of that in one place on one wheel, but it's like the size of a needle head. haha, crazy that I am that obsessed with it.

My wheels in general though are a little less gray than they should be just from 20 years driving. I am going to get them polished or spray them or something, but one got curbed by Michelle pretty bad one time..haha

If I were you, I'd respray all the wheels with some color (Probably that same color) then do ten trillion thin coats of Rustoleum clear acrylic. After curing for a week or so, it'll never come off.

Ha, mine was originally just the size of a needle head..... Anyway, probably will end up doing the painting, I would really like to try white though.... Oh well, I guess thats what sand paper is for.

I used a really abrasive cleaner the first time I don't remember what it was. Just a plastic bristle brush. How long does powdercoat last?

powder coating usual lasts a lot time if you know how to properly clean it. it also depends on the quality too. i say get new rims or get them properly powdercoated by a professional. then if you need to clean them use car wash soap in a bottle (like meguiar's line of products.. nxt.. gold class.. w/e...). about 2-3 OZ in a spray bottle and spray it on the rims and scrub with a SOFT bristle brush. like a wheel brush (meguiars wheel brushes are good enough)... it might sound like a lot for cleaning wheels but a few bucks can save you a lot of trouble in the future.

Powdercoating seems more durable, but spraying them and coating with acrylic would allow you to 'change your mind' so to speak. Say you dislike the color you chose; then you're out six bucks and not (Uh?) several times more? It's not like spray is expensive, and it looks good if you prep it right the first time.

Regardless, good luck with whatever you do. I'm keeping mine the way they are for a while until I get the car repainted - then I'll decide what to do about them.
