p/s removal help

Ok...I have my pump out...and have the 3 lines remaining that were on the pump. The two ones on top (feed and return?) and the third one on the bottom (cooler line or something?). Cant i just remove the hose all the way where it goes down to the steering arm guy (where it meets the rack) and loop the two lines together with the hose?? And then I've read you can just cap the third one? Will this be reliable etc? PLEASE give me some good responses or ways. I want the most reliable and EASY to do method since hte motor is still in the car. I need to get my 7 going again.

Just cap all 3 of them, take out the line that runs into the front of the car (cooler). Turn the wheel back and forth w/ the caps off to get most of the fluid out.

ok...the cooler goes towards the front of the car like you said, but from there it goes to the rack right. Do i just plug that? What do you cap the lines with?

i have my pump out...i followed the lines to the top of pump (feed and return) and see the oil cooler liine at the bottom. Cant i remove the line all the way to the steering gear (I i think thats the name, where all the lines are) and loop the feed and return after turning the wheel a bit? Can somone please tell me that has done this, what you can use to loop the lines or how you did it, because the lines are different sizes for the feed and return. The only way i can see doing it is to remove the line and somehow buy two banjob bolts, put them in each hole for the feed and return, then put a hose on the top of the bolt and loop them. Any such bolt made? And i just plug the oil cooler line? where does the cooler line go to from the pump? To the rack??
