how hot is "overheating". Roughly how far up the temp. gauge should start concerning me.
87 base, 5 speed, catback exhaust and cone filter, regular operating temperature 1/4 up the gauge. There's a twisty hill by my house that me and my friends race up, i was racing a buddy's 05 wrx and pulling on him in the straights then i noticed my temperature gauge was reading half way up, i turned the heat on and started rolling down the road out of gear.

 

1/2 way is the upper range of normal on an S4... Start freaking when you hit 3/4...
