Overheating

ok, here the prob, my car is over heating really bad, to the point where the radiator fuild is boiling. i donno what the problem is. There was a howling sound, and i figured that was the water pump, so i replaced it and the howling stopped. The thermostat is brand new. so i know its not that, anf fulid is not leaking. I turned it on today and it took bout 5 mins to overheat. i looked at the engine and touched the radiator hose it was very very very hot. then i seen steam or smoke, comming from where the spark plugs are, so i took off the oil cap and and a lot more steam/smoke came out, i looked under my car and seen oil all over the floor (gasket i believe ) so i put more oil in the car, just to test to see what would happen and i turned on the car, no smoke. but it still over heated.

I have no clue why it might be overheating can anyone help

thx in advance

-Cris

you might have a blown o-ring take out your leading spark plugs and have someone crank it over if coolent blows out your in trouble.. check your timing also if it is advanced it will overheat

Warped rotor housing or blown coolant seal= rebuild time...

Take the radiator cap off and start the car. Watch and see if coolant shoots out.

Also check the front pulley. The bolt in the center can come loose on S-4s (especially early ones) and cause the thermo pelllet to not work properly. The thermo pellet is like a thermostat for the oil cooler. If its not letting oil to the cooler, the motor could overheat.

If the car overheated severly, theres a good chance you now also have one of the problems listed above.

Sorry :-(
