Overheating
I have a 88 non-turbo and the temp just started acting up. It get's pretty hot when driving especially when going up hill. The upper hose seems to have alot of pressure. I've changed the thermostat and flushed the system but I still have the problem. Any suggestions?

Is your fan working ok? When you shut the car off hot there should be some resistance felt when you try to spin the stock fan. Your fan clutch could be going bad. How's your radiator?

Just curious, but what do you have that indicates the temps getting hotter? The stock gauge? Aftermarket gauge?
That sounds like it could be the clutch fan like 13BAce said. The cat clogging could also be playing a part of this problem. Did you check your water pump when you had the thermostat off?

Stock gauge and I checked the fan and waterpump. The radiator does not leak nor does the water pump, The only thing I can say is the over flow tank will run over when I shut down after running @ high temp. When I pop open the hood you can feel how hot the engine is. I really think my cat is causing to much back pressure.
