Exclamation Overheated - Now what?

Ok, so we've decided that I blew water seals when I overheated https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generation-specific-1986-1992-17/overheated-help-needed-491831/ .

After a ton of reading, everyone says you SHOULD rebuild the motor when replacing these. My question: do I HAVE to? Could I get away with just replacing those, leaving the motor as it were, and put it all back together ready to sell / drive (if I'm feeling ballsy?).

Having a car that won't idle is killing my asking price.

chances are that it took a good toll on more than the coolant seals, heat kills everything in a rotary. my frined HAD to rebuild is.......then you should do a port and keep it bc it will run at least 600 if ya do it yourself or you can contact brian at bdc motorsports and he can probably do it for like 1200 with a street port.
