overheat.

overheat.
Saw a hose cracked near my turbo today that kept leaking coolant. Replaced that, but soon after my car started overheating...
I added coolant after letting it sit to cool down. As soon as I started to drive off after starting it, it started to overheat again so I pulled over at a gas station. I let it cool down once again but this time I noticed that all this coolant was getting shot out of the reservoir hose. I'm guessing too much pressure had built up and was causing it to come shooting out.
As soon as the temp went down I tried to start the car. It was a no go. It turned over but didn't want to start up. So I figured it was flooded as most s4's flood. I take out the EGI fuses and crank it. Put them back in and it still doesn't go. I kept doing this for... about 2-3 hours. Taking small breaks in between of course. Finally it started up, but as soon as that miracle happened it bogged and died. Now I went looking for a vacuum leak... none to be found...
So I started up the same routine again and it finally started! As soon as it started... the game over happened. White smoke started pouring out the exhaust. I didn't know what to do, I was so shocked... I felt like my heart had been ripped out and stepped on. I just couldn't believe my eyes. I asked Jaime about if I could drive it home fine and so I started off on a sorrowful journey home.
THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN! The temp gauge went back up the H, slowly but surely. I stop the car once again on the shoulder of the freeway and let it cool down. This time I was at wits end and I felt that my life was over. If this wasn't worse CHP showed up and thought I was drunk on the side of the freeway. I once again tried to start the car and nothing. It was once again flooded... so I pulled the fuse, cranked and it finally started again. This time... no smoke?!??!?!!? WTF. I drove home really slow like a sloth, taking my sweet time trying not to destroy anything. My temp gauge went up past H this time as soon as I got home. No hoses had been destroyed, but I'm afraid for my engine itself. I'm crossing my fingers right now and hoping its just the thermostat dying.
If anyone can help me figure out whats wrong PLEASE HELP! My life is nothing without my car.

I lost the coolant return hose on my car on the freeway, got off and into a gas station just in time. I didn't even bother trying to drive it home, got it towed instead.
With the engine running, check for bubbles at the radiator fill with the cap off. That will tell you more. Sounds like you have more than one issue to deal with here, good luck!

could be a seal. its prolly 1 that allows exhaust to get into ur cooling system. but when the car is off leaks coolant into the housings and floods ur plugs. mine was over heating quick like that and pissing coolant out of the overflow. now its stopped pissing coolant still gets kinda hot but not over heating hot. only thing i did was toss a bottle of that aluminum block sealer in in. not sure if its actually worked or not.

oh god. dont read any of the replies in this thread as they are completely not worth reading. except for that macz payne guy. do the coolant bubble test as he described.
the engine is done. just yank it.
just a reminder. when things leak... dont just replace the hose or fix the leak and not put fluid back into the system. do that immediately.
also... remember the gauge reacts slower than where the engine is actually at. im pretty sure the engine is toast.

The stock gauge is broke anyways. Ive ran hot before (98 Celsius according to the microtech hand controller) and the stock gauge stayed in the same spot.
Overheating like that sucks and there is a good chance that your plates could warp some. Not really usable for a rebuild.
Sorry dude looks like youre in need of a new engine.
