Overhead/Map lights malfunction

My overhead light(between my two map lights) doesn't work so good anymore =P Sometimes, if I turn the the key in the ignition, and flip the light on, it will turn on. After that, it will leave itself on if the door's open. But most of the time, it doesn't work period. Alsom my driver's side map light never works(it's not the bulb). I'm sure this is just old wiring, or something like that, but I was just wondering if anyone had ever experienced anything like this, and what they did to fix it. Thanks!

The door switches are very prone to rusting. Best is to remove them and go wild with a dremmel. Then, get them chrome plated to prevent further rust. Did that with mine, and they've been fine ever since....

Also, clean the contacts on your dome light switch.
