cool, made some progress

Alright fellas, I took the intake of today and triple checked all my connections, now it will hold an ok idle at 2500, with a slight bit of propane being injected into through a vacuum hose lets say maybe a tablespoon every 4-5 seconds.

And I can lower the idle by pressing against the linkage that the tps takes its reading off of, so something must be holding that open to cause the idle to jump up, and then for some reason it isn't getting enough fuel to keep it running at that rpm because it thinks its just idling or something along those lines.

Does this sound like a good find or am I just full of myself and ****, if this is whats happening what can I do to fix it. Gonna go play with the dashpot now so done tell me that please.

Thanks a lot hailers! Your last post helped me make the most progress since trying to fix this bug. It was actually the next thing on my list I was just unsure of how to tackle it so great timing there.

Now that I set the most outward screw on the fast idle cam out a ways it now idles at anywhere from a crappy 400-500 up to a good 700-900 so thats awesome, and I could check the timing now with the idle low enough, and it was spot on.

But that leads me to my last and final problem I hope. Most of my tests this morning were being done with the bac valve unplugged, and with this it would idle at about 600 rpms.

Then when I plugged in the BAC valve it revved up to 1500 which I understand is normal for startup, but when it starts to drop the idle it seems to be doing the same thing as before and stalling the engine just at a lower rpm, but if I play with the throttle a while it while start to maintain a good idle after a minute or so.

I also tried just starting the car with the bac valve unplugged this morning, then plugging it in after the motor ran at a crappy low idle for a few seconds and the bac raised the idle to where it should have been and didn't try to stall it.

The a/f ratio at idle was 13.0-13.8 so ill try to get that a little closer to stoich in the morning but I doubt that would do me a whole lot of good with the bac valve problem.
