Out with a BANG!

This is what I get for being cheap and not getting a decent muffler! Only got a few weeks out of this turbo muffler before it self-destructed:

It was $15 at the local auto parts store, but they only come with two holes instead of four . It was about as loud as just a single catalytic converter. I put in a section of straight pipe to replace it and to get the exhaust gasses out from under the car, and it was considerably louder--Open header, roar! The muffler was directly after the header with a hacked-up factory y-pipe setup and straight pipes instead of dual mufflers. I have a bigger el cheapo (tm) turbo muffler in the back now; Hopefully it will last a little longer. I was going to go with a straight-through muffler, but I got plenty of dirty looks from neighbors when I had straight pipes, plus I like my hearing. The best part of an open exhaust is scaring little kids, though. Kids would stare in horror as I drove slowly by their homes--and they'd actually turn and run away! Good stuff.
