Question Original A'pexi AFC install question.

Hello all, i was just wondering is it possible to install a orignal AFC not a s-afc 2..... on to a s4 rx? the one guy i talked to in japan who was trying to sell one said there is instructions for install on a s5 but not s4. just wanted to ask if anyone else has installed this on their car.

i already have 1 on my supra that i will be taking off if it can be installed on the rx, if you need pics or anything just ask.

If you are referring to the SAFC (not SAFCII) here is the vehicle application table for Mazdas. I have the manual. Iif you want it, PM me an email addy.

Edit: Here's a link to the SAFC installation manual in case that is what you are referring to

Don't know if there was a plain AFC. Check the controller for a "product number". If it is 401-A007, it is the SAFC as opposed to the SAFCII.

If it looks like the image below, it's an SAFC. I see no reference to an AFC on the A'PEXi web site.

Before the Super AirFlow Converter (SAFC) there was just the plain old AirFlow Converter (AFC). Oldschool 90s.

Check out that broken English

yes, thats the one. mine has the led bar across the bottom but its the same thing. it should be the same hookup as what the s-afc is, (only difference was that the s-afc had multiple rpm points for setting up fuel flow instead of 1 fixed) not sure if its the same hookup as the safc2 models that everyone runs on the fc's.

thats why i was asking to see if anyone else had done this install before, i have turbo injectors for my na and dont want to run it too rich. well that and my supra is non operational right now so i would like to use this as a cheap solution beings that i already have one and its not doing me any good in a car with a blown turbo

there are a couple of really really old install threads on here. i think most of the wire colors were the same as the newer one, except there is one wire that's only used on a skyline install.

actually to back this up, there is the AFC with one ****, the super AFC with 5 *****, and then the Safc with the blue screen.

i'm talking about the 5 **** version. i have one in my S4. so if you need the dip switch settings i have it
