so does anyone know what i have to do to fit that pump in? do i need a shorter ruber mount under the pump or should i trim the metal feed line? im guessing that since it had a walbro in it and walbros are shorter that the rubber was made to make the pump sit up higher but im not sure cause i dont have a stock rubber to compare

I went 044 external but thats only because with those big a1000 pumps etc... you will need huge -8 or -10an fuel lines, otherwise you can expect your pump to die out quick. The 044 was the highest flowing pump that would work with my -6an lines.

Do those mods really justify colder plugs?

Nz Thank you for the clarification. With the same setup as mentioned before I ran the stock Turbo-II pump, and I never had any problems as far as running lean is concerned. With that motor in particular "Which was an 87-88 block" I did manage to get over 100K miles on it. As far as the colder plugs are concerned I figured it would help ward off detonation that’s why I ran 9's all the way around. Nz quick question. I am curious to know when I installed the Greddy 720's in the secondaries on the 87-88 block they say you have to use an inline resistor in order for those injectors to work properly in the 87-88 turbo cars. If I remember correctly it also had something to do with a cut off point in the VIN# with the 87-88 cars, however when I installed the injectors they worked perfectly fine with the exception that the car ran pig rich. I didn’t care all I wanted to do is make sure the car didn’t run lean period! Now that I have an 89-91 JDM block if I run 720's in the secondaries do I need to install a resistor as well? I know this sound like a dumb question but if you don’t run the resistor with the 720's will you blow the motor due to improper voltage that the injectors are getting? Is that the purpose of the resistor upgrade to make sure the injectors get the proper voltage? Thanks again for your feedback, it's greatly appreciated.

If you're using the SAME injectors as your S4 motor then you will need to use the resistor. Or is it the other way around?? icemark is the electrical guy so he'll explain it better.

If you use NEW injectors the you should just get the correct impedance to avoid this whole issue

Now I always get it backwards but (s4's are low impedance while the S5's are high impedance.) BY using the S4 LOW impedance injectors they will not flow the right amount of fuel

2 minutes of searching yielded this: hope it helps. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with this crap.
https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...dance+high+low

The S4's have low impedance which means it has low voltage but high current
The S5's have High Impedance which means it has High voltage but low current.

This is one of the things I am totally lost on mainly cuz I don't deal with this issue at all and I'm not an electrician.

Running low impedance injectors on a high impedance system will give you the wrong current and you might have more electrical problems. the more in depth i research this the happier I am that I bought the correct impedance injectors and didn't have to research this. All the info is complex and cannot be found/understood in one sitting. [/failed thread jack]

13Bturbofc: didn't the pump come with a blanket to avoid grounding?

um...no all that came in the box was the pump i had to buy the filter seperate too...so r you saying that the pump shouldnt touch the sending unit on the sides.. its alot fatter then the walbro and it hits the sending unit on the sides

i truly don't know man. I cannot visualize your problem.

Found this

http://mkiv.com/techarticles/fuel_pumps_test_2/

but can't find anything on installation on this forum or teamfc3s.
