Opinions on FC for sale

Hey guys, im a newbie. Im looking into purchasing an FC locally and im just looking for some advice and opinions.

The car im looking at currently is a 1990 Rx7 GXL 5spd. Here is the exact description from the seller:

"1990 RX7 GXL 5spd, 165K, runs and drives great, body and interior in good condition, minor damage to left rear quarter. Car is stock aside from aftermarket stainless performance mufflers. Has factory CD player, A/C works great. Asking $2000 or $2500 with 86 GL parts car. Parts car has complete engine in unknown condition, bad transmission in trunk, but is complete and has the factory lightweight aluminum hood and non-power windows and door locks."

The following are some pictures(56k safe):

Here are some pictures of the damaged area(these are in high resolution):

I don't have pictures of the parts car. Its not a lot to go off of but hopefully you guys get a sense of what is going on here. Any tips/warnings/encouragement/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for helping the noob.

maybe a little pricey but reasonable i suppose. looks clean except for that one spot. understand youre probably gonna need a rebuild in the near future + the cost to fix those dents...

Yea, i saw that link in the FAQ. Its a great article and i'll try to do most of what it says.

Any ideas on how expensive a rebuild can get? Is it possible to do it in my own garage/home? Im not too worried about the dents, cosmetics are the least of my worries at this point.

On a sidenote, holy cow, i posted only a few hours ago this thread is already in the 2nd page of the forum! This is a very active forum

Wouldnt be a bad idea to get the parts car for the extra 500. Yould probably be able to part it out for more money.
