Ooh the goody I got, Interesting post.

Ok heres the scoop. Ordered my S4 motor and low and behold they send me a s5!! Here is the deal tho, I am having to swap over the front cover so I can eliminate the electronic oil metering pump etc etc... so yay for me!!
Gotta shell the dual TPS system, the electronic OMP, the purple top injectors. All in all tho ill have an s5 block, turbo etc.. with the s4 systems so I should be alright.

so you got the dual TPS, electric OMP?

Or you're saying that you have to buy them?

Um, no, you will not be all right. Your S4 AFM, wiring harness, and ECU are not compatible with the S5 engine.

Sounds like you got the short end of that stick.

What makes you think that engine is a S5 engine?

I am confused man. That engine should just go in fine? The front cover is different though?

Yep that's fine you just need to swap the front cover and all the extras like sensors and stuff and use series 4 stuff.

The only thing I am not sure of is the turbo and what the series 5 comes with as far as connections

yah im using all the series 4 stuff on the motor that is needed to make it run properly. i swapped the front cover so i can use the mechanical OMP instead of the electronic. all is well. few other things ive run across. the 89 motor has larger fuel rails so im going to use those, and i have to use my jspec 87 intake due to the lack of stud length so i can bolt on the piece the OMP pump rod mounts to.
