One month with my RX7! thoughts.........
I had friends who used to race these cars, they told me they were a blast to drive and after having one I know that's true. As of now my car does NOT eat coolant and does NOT burn massive amounts of oil. Start up is still an event because of my fuel switch and key (turn key+crank+turn on fuel usually=VROOM!) I have flooded it out once and it sucked *** pulling the plugs a few times. My wife likes the car and if she likes it than I like it even better (more $$$$ for the project!) I suppose for $400 I can't complain, no rust and one dented *** hood, the paint is good, I need to get some dents removed and my parts search is going well for the hood (still need one) and Radio (found a EQ tape unit).
I was wondering if Mazda made a CD player for these cars and where the hell could I find one and what should I expect to pay? I plan on keeping it until it explodes so might as well make it look nice and be comfortable. I really baby it, I let it warm up drive it at least once a day and don't pound on it as far as speed goes. I still need to fix the sun roof (cant wait for summer!) and install speakers but I like the car and it sounds great when its running, really impressive exhaust note even from the factory. Thanks to everyone in this forum up to now, I never thought I would own a rotary because of the stories I have heard but after driving one and studying the engine designs and how they work they really make sense and are easy to work on. I am considering getting an RX8 as a new car in the next few years as opposed to a conventional piston powered car.
Thanks
Jesse

yeah as Evil Aviator said some FC's did come with the CD players, however I have one and it never wants to play the cd's,
it refuses all burned cd's and accepts only a couple authentic cd's in which it will actually play, so if you didn't have one in the car I would suggest an aftermarket if you wanna listen to cd's.
The only reason I keep mine is because I like keeping the interior stock

I feel you about the CD player, I have the stock cassette deck in both of my cars, and I'm thinking about putting a CD player in my glovebox, so the interior "looks" all stock still.
Anyone ever tried this so that it keeps that clean look? Or know of a orange glow CD player that doesn't cost over $150? If I have to go aftermarket, I don't want to wind up with like 2 or 3 tone interior colors at night.
I'm glad that you're enjoying your rotary experience, mine has had its bumps in the past 6 months or so since I've owned it, but I still love it. No other car I've owned or driven has compared.

I have a stock CD player, i dont know how it will wire in, it's from an 87 gxl with the 6 speaker system and pioneer AE system, the wiring is different from all of the tape deck model fcs i've had. It will not currently play any CDs, but has been repaired before for the same problem so i'm sure it could be fixed by a shop, if you want it just come pick it up or pay shipping.
