One last shot (Idle Problem)

Okay, I've been having very annoying Idle problems lately and I really need to get it fixed, I've been procrastinating for a while now and need to get it fixed. Here are the symptoms:

1.) When I start the car on a cold start, like in the mourning for the first time. It doesn't idle by itself for the first 3-4 minutes. I have to rev it up to like 2-3k and keep it there for like 3-4 minutes.

2.) When it finally does start idling on it's own, it idles VERY rough. It goes up and down from 1k to 1200k and moves back down to 600RPM than moves back up, it goes all over the place, and the car shakes like crazy.

3.) As some of you may remember, I mentioned this also too. That the car takes a crazy ammount of fuel, I mean, I know it's a Turbo2 13BT, but damn, it shouldn't take this much. On a full tank, it only goes about 120-150miles.

So, I've been trying to figure out what's wrong for long time, but honestly, I haven't had the time to figure it out. But now I really want to fix this 'cause it's starting to get annoying.

I would really appreciate any help you guys can give and any diagnostic tests I can do at home. Thanks in advance.

check for vaccum leaks, check compression, and see if the engine is going into closed loop mode. Do a search on how to check those things, this problem has been encounter'd countless times. Or Look in "2nd gen archives" at the top of this forum section and look for the "idle problem" thread.

Okay, so I played around a little with it, but here's the thing. It's a Turbo2.

And when I rev it up to 4k or over, I constantly here a hiss, now I would think that it's the BOV, but I look on my Turbo Gauge and it's not boosting at all, it's just on -20, and yes, my Turbo gauge works, when I give it boost, it shows the boost, but when it's revving at 4k, i hear some hissing, I think it's the BOV, but there's no boost being given to the engine, is that normal?

I'm thinking maybe that's a vacuum leak?

Bump. Could that hiss be a vacuum leak?

I'm gonna go with no it's not normal. But don't quote me. I'm not expert.

Continue to check for vacuum leaks.

Thanks, how would I test to make sure if that's a vacuum leak or not?
