one headlight GONE...high beam works

question. my left headlight is gone...probably burnt out or something. but for some reason, when i turn on the high beam, its fine. can you explain this? thx

Theres two seperate filaments. The low beam one is broken.

or the lowbean wire on the harness attached to the light is broken...mine broke when i replaced it with the H4 conversion...this is how i got mine to work until i replaced the harness...turn on lights (low beams)...smack the glass...it turns on... *MAGIC* lol finally i stole a harness from a 80something transam with popup headlights...jackass's at the local mazda dealer told me i would have to buy a whole engine harness for it! and the dumbass's at pepboys didnt know what the hell i was talking about!!!
