OMP mechanical and electric
OMP mechanical and electric
I am swapping engines. I am putting my '89 ported engine into my '87. I have the injectors and intake problems already dealt with....it's nice having the '87 engine still around. I am wondering how I will deal with the difference in oil metering pumps. The '89 has an electric and the '87 uses a mechanical. Does anyone have and experience in swapping them? If so, what pitfalls or hurdles should I be aware of?
Do I just disable it and premix?<hope to avoid this> All answers are welcome.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Thanks guys. :-) I will change front covers then.
FYI
VDI and AFM's were the intake woes. I will run the '87 intake to get it running and debugged, then I will swap to the '89 with the VDI wire open with the '87 AFM.

Go get a RPM sense switch and do it right.
