i have an 88 gxl and it smokes blue oil smoke only at first take off and at high rpms and its eating the hell out of oil b/c of this problem. now the car has great compression and runs beautifully but in the morning or after it has sat for a prolonged period of time it smokes only when i start it or if i get it up to 5 and 6,000 rpms. is this the omp adding to much oil to my engine or is it bad seals and i need to rebuild the engine soon? im going through about a quart every 2weeks.the car has abot 190k miles on it but the previous owner ahd it rebuilt about 80k miles ago. please help
1) Maybe worn or toasted oil control rings.
2) Maybe warped side plates should that should have been replaced during the last rebuild.
A dose of "motor honey" or "STP" will slow down oil consumption while you get ready to swap or rebuild the engine
