it feels better doing it the right way rather than throwing it together and hoping for the best?
just remember the carrier bearings do not require a lot of preload, i haven't actually worked with a mazda third member before but if the carrier bearings are too tight they will cook and burn up, too loose and they will get hammered so pay attention to how the FSM sais to preload them then once done with that you can check the backlash, if it is too loose then loosen the right adjuster slightly and cinch the left one down and retorque it and recheck the backlash, reverse if the backlash is too small.

so yeah ok everything seems fine. i have mazdacomp front diff mount mmr diff mounts and a pinion snubber thats in constant contact with the diff. The subframe is on solid mounts. i can hear the diff spinning but its sounds like a hardrive on a computer its a wispy sound not lloud at all. I'm not freakin out yet.
i still have that wierd spinning wheel problem. BUT i know it now to be a horsepower/drivers foot issue. the other diff was going but the overall problem is hp over traction. These local roads are garbage.
