OMG OMG Re-painted the 7!

Yes I know they did not put the rims back on in the correct order. I will have to go back and make them fix it

I didin't take any artsy shots. Just came straight home, ran upstairs and grabbed my camera.

I'm trying to decide wether or not to put the louvres back on still

Those stickers ('decals' for those of you who played with 'action figures' when you were kids ) were a bitch to re-make.

I'll leave them off for a week or two and then make my decision. I think I'm leaning towards putting them back on... I dig the retro look

I swapped with an aluminum hood before painting. Also changed the sunroof panel (old one had developed a bit of cancer) and added an S5 wing.

I'd love for my 7 to look that. My 7 looks like ****, but runs great. Did you paint it yourself?

Nope, bodyshop.

$2000 for the paintjob

$200 for some body damage (thank you old lady in red kia who looked RIGHT but not LEFT when she turned LEFT)

Sandblasting\painting the rims was an additional $300

Looks great. I don't get why you would want to recreate and install the decals :o/ but it looks like a good either way.

You are my HERO. You repainted it the factory blue, or at least damn close to it. My car is hte only one I'e seen (except a pic or two on here) in the color and I love it.
I just wish I had the money. When I look at the price of repainting it all I can think of is "you know, with that much money I could buy another RX-7" so I doubt I will ever get mine repainted.

Are the louvres heavy? I'd probably skip them for weight reduction/visibility reasons myself, plus I've never been a fan of the look anyway. Great looking paint job though!

Very nice... If you are going to rock the 80's decals across the doors then go ahead and throw the louvers on there to finish out the retro (BARF) 80's look.

Had I had more time, I'd have put this fiberglass kit on for the ultimate retromobile

Car looks great man! Like the colour. But don't be a chince bag - swithc the rims around yourself

I just wish I had the money.
As a body shop owner, I don't understand this. I see people spend 2K on rims and when you want another 500 to re-paint they're entire car, they think you're bending them over.

I'm lazy and it needs to go back for additional drivetrain work anyways

Is that 5A? If so... I'm a bit biased towards it.

Looks beautiful.
