You are using the S5 intake manifold on an S4 block?.... the primary intake ports do not line up and the split air ports are on the side housings of the S4 engine and not on the center.
Could those major attributes be a factor as to why your car isnt running properly?

If i remeber correctly everrything lined up when I did the assembly work. It's just weird because the car starts right up and runs great for 20 seconds or so with the AFM umplugged. It starts right up and runs for a few seconds and dies withthe AFM hooked up.

Sorry, yes they do line up but perhaps its that the 'air ports' dont, it could be a source of the problem, since air-pump functions seems to be much more vital to the S5 setup than it does to the S4.

Have you adjusted the TPS?

As we've stated already, this sounds more and more like vac. leaks than anything else. And the car will almost always start without the AFM.

You might be onto somthing there, I found an article on this.

Thank you, I think that "Mouth" (split air port) is the problem. I did not do anything about it Damn I gotta rip the whole thing apart again!

Well, I might get to assemble the car later today. I filled the air passage hole on the intake manifold with JB weld. I will at least try to get o the lower portion of the manifold. Thanks everybody, but keep the info coming if you have any more suggestions.

Thank you to everyone that helped me with the car problem. Especially, Martin, and RacerX7fb. I found the split air ports leaking and found an air intake leak. A vacuum line was holding the intake elbow off just a little bit. I made sure that the timing was set right. Maybe the car heard me talk about it getting parted out too.
