Old School worthy info on the TII

I was just researching springs and came across a good series from Grassroots Motorsports back in `88. Just thought I'd pass it along. Lost of good info on cheap suspension tuning and results of mods.

wow, thanks for posting those! i read them all and theyre great i was amazed that they were able to get 1G out of the stock suspension! I didnt realize it was that tweakable.

High tech performance is very different in the eighties i laughed when i read this b/c anyone talking about the 80's is just funny, but they werent joking! these mods were great! 239 hp, 5.8 sprint to 60...not bad at all

and they were boosting 11 PSI w/out any fuel mods? isnt that pretty close to the limit?

One thing to keep in mind is that they were approaching this project on a 3 year old platform at the time.

I don't run a turbo (yet) but saw so much good baseline information I had to pass this stuff along. How many people know about the indexing of the pillow ball mounts of their front struts??

GRM is long known for being able to tweak the **** out of cars for minimal cash. They once got a MR2 hitting 1.1G's on a 600 dollar set of tires and some new shocks. Unlike many mags, they'll openly tell you what sucks *** and what works.

"After we completed the modifications described above and made our tire inflation adjustments, we measured the car's final lateral acceleration at 1.0065 g."

WOW.

"Cartech found that the large injectors and the aggressive fuel curve afforded by the stock EFI rendered a correct air/fuel mixture to a level of about 8 psi without lowering discharge temperatures; with other improvements, it was possible to run safely to the 11 psi range before additional modification to the fuel system was required. "

What are the "other improvements?"

Note that their stock 0-60 times were 7.3s.
