Old School cast HKS BOV Three Hoses?

Hey,
I have a 1987 FC3S Turbo that I am trying to get back on the road. I have an old HKS BOV and it seems to have more attachments than my non-functional stock BOV. I have hooked up the big hose to the BACV and the brass nipple on the side to my vacuum hose that then tees off to the intake and the pressure guage. Any thoughts on what to do with the black plastic 'nipple' on top? Is it there so the BOV can get atomspheric pressure? I have seen some with hoses attached to this part...
Anyone with a similar set-up your comments are much appreciated. See the attached picture, if it doesn't show, right click on it, pull up the properties and copy the url into your address bar.
Thanks in advance,
Justin

That's the intake manifold vacuum reference for the BOV - it has to be hooked up or it won't work.

Just hook it up to the nipple that's on the upper intake manifold just below the BAC and you'll be good.

Ok,
I figured it was there for a reason. Right now I have nipple on the side of the BOV connected to the nipple on the intake.
So have hooked up the side nipple wrong? It seems odd that both small connections coming out of the BOV would go to the same place.
At the intake nipple I have a tee after a short piece of vacuum line one half runs to the BOV and the other half goes to the pressure guage.
Can I jumper the side nipple on the BOV over to the pressure guage?
I was all set to just fire the thing up and switch hoses as I saw fit but then I read about some other user blowing an apex seal doing essentially the same thing.
Thanks again for your help!

I think you're just confusing yourself .

The BOV is mounted on the pipe that goes from the turbo to the intercooler. The output of the BOV (which is probably about a 3/4" hose) goes back to the turbo inlet duct. The tiny nipple on top of the BOV goes to the nipple on the upper intake manifold just beneath the BAC - just run a vacuum line there.

If you still have emissions, there will also be a nipple at the top of the air control valve - that's for the boost sensor that's on the passenger side shock tower. Both of these nipples (the ACV nipple and the one under the BAC) just go to the same place - it's nothing fancy. You can T into either of them.

Looking at the picture again, it's hard to tell - can you take a pic of the BOV from the side? Is there another small vacuum nipple on the BOV?

That's a REALLY old HKS BOV, if that's what it is. I don't even recognize it!

Updated picture.
Thanks again for your help, it is an old BOV (really old) but I got the car for cheap and I am trying to see how fast I can go on the cheap.
I have noticed the new ones don't have the extra nipple. I read a post where someone had a similar set-up but now I can't find it and my countless Searches have come up dry.
Thanks again, I really do appreciate it!

Ah! That is actually HKS's current BOV - the Super Sequential BOV. Looked really bizzare in the other picture.

Anyhow, I think you just hook the line up to the top nipple and leave the side nipple vented to atmosphere. See how that works - if it blows off smooth and you don't get any surge, you're good.

Thanks! Sorry about that first picture my photo program was very cheesy.
I think this is our last weekend of good weather here in MI so I want to at least drive the car once in nice weather.
I'll post an update with installed and working pictures, I have seen these BOVs on Ebay once a week. Someone will soon have similar problems.
Thanks again,
Justin
