ok, tell me what u think
my car had a pretty bad coolant leak a month ago, i did overheat once and probalby busted that old radiator (tanks were busted), so i replaced it with a fluidyne and thought that's it, and then the leak got bigger, and i thought it was the waterpump and gaskets, so i replaced that also. still leaks,
i was tired of fixing it and send the car to mariah, they found out that it came from a very small hose, (i still dunno which one it is), they also replaced the upper and lower radiator hose also. i got my car back today, and just on my way home, the add coolant lights comes on and off, after i got home, i looked under car and didn't see any leaks, so i thought maybe the sensor is just ******* with me. i waited for car to cool down and, open the radiator cap, coolant is toally full...
and night i just went out to buy something, damn car got overheated, after i got home....and i looked under and see some tiny drops hanging on the edge of the radiator....
i am going to send the car back to mariah tomorrow, it's like 10 miles away, should i drive there? i don't feel like towing it there again...
comments?? suggestions???

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
Might have been a bubble in the system, or bad thermostat.
did you replace the thermostat?
Also, I hate to say it, but overheated once is bad, overheated twice... Might be more than just a leak or an old radiator.
Check the timing, check the exhaust (clogged cats if you still have one of them?), check spark plug condition (to make sure you haven't been detonating your motor), check oil pressure.

run your car up on wheel ramps on a level surface.
(or point your car uphill at the equivenent or greater incline.
fill the cooling system with the car running.
once its full, (rev it a few times), cap it off, and fill the reservoir.
now drive it for 20 minutes.
what happens now?
tomorrow?
2 days from now?
if after a time, it buzzes again, you have a leak somewhere.
Maybe a water jacket seal?
check your exhaust for burnt coolant smell.

just some no name brand intake i got in my car,
i was bored one day and tried to pick a K&N up from kragen, but they were all gone, and then i just ran to a local rice store and got it for $40 bucks...
i think i got ripped off ...damn rice store
just keep in mind that i didn't need any adaptor for the filter since it's a 89 model, for 86-88 u need one.
hope that helps

very sweet
if i wasn't leaving for basic in 2 weeks i'd drive to wherever you are and slap you for selling it..then buy it.
if you still havn't sold it by may15th... consider it sold cause i'll have 7k + in my pocket (bonus money) and i'll forgo the new motor for my T2 and buy your car.. not for 7k though..but for whatever we could agree on...then i'd slap you again....and make sure i got your phone number so i could call you a year or so down the raod and ask you if you want it back... at nearly the same price. cause i knowyou'll regret selling it..and i won't drive it much cause i'll be on base or in my T2 giving it hell.
anyhow... i hope someone good gets your baby, and i hope you can get the chase to get it back when you get the finances.

i highly doubt i will get the car back if i sold it,
i highly doubt i will get another FC,
this is my second T2 already..
and with my knowledge and financial situation i dont' think i qualify to take care of a 7,....(i tried my best for 2 yrs though)
i think i might go for an NA MR2, yr 91-95
think they are the 2nd gen MR2 also
what do u guys think?
thing is that i like rear wheel drive and driftings,
sure turbo can help for losing the rear easier,
but turbo MR2 are expensive and rare, plus mid engine car oversteer easily
so i problaby end up NA, cheaper also...
and i am not trying to brag about myself and stuffs or showoff,
but the only 2 cars i own in my life are the 2 T2....
so i actually want a NA for the next car, plus MR2 has always been in my cool car list

Sweet car man...I'd love to have your car if had money, and wasn't saving up for racing school. Mr2's are sweet cars too man, but they can't compare with the RX-7. Although I've never driven a Turbo Mr2.
